The organization's mission is to prevent drug and alcohol use and other destructive behaviors by young people through the use of storytelling, arts and cultural empowerment in the context of scientific research. The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) is a good site for investigating the causes and treatments for alcohol abuse and dependence. The site has an especially good section on college students and drinking. It addresses the problem of the underlying culture that supports binge drinking and has tips for students, administrators, and parents for addressing this concern.
